Is it cheaper if I translate a first version myself and then let Atelier T read and correct it?
If you had linguistic training and/or you like writing, then it could be handy to make your own translation. Revising is after all cheaper than translating.
It is possible, however, that you aren’t such an all-rounder and your talents lie elsewhere. Revising a poor translation sometimes requires more energy than starting from scratch. Don’t even get me started about automatically translated texts, which come across as very unprofessional. If you think about it, this actually concerns double loss of time: you or one of your employees spent a lot of time writing the text, time that could have been spent on doing what you are really good at. Just like I outsource what I dislike or have less talent for, I recommend you to do the same. This way, you have more time and energy to use your talent and this will make your working day a little shorter.
